Steve Moriarty is the Curator Emeritus of the photography collection at the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art (formerly the Snite Museum of Art) at the University of Notre Dame.  He studied photography at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Center for Photographic Studies in Louisville, and earned his M.F.A. at the University of Notre Dame in 1980.

He has been photographing since his early twenties and is probably best known for his documentation of the Civil War and Post-War period in El Salvador.
